Education, Training and Experience...
As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist practicing in San Francisco and San Mateo, I offer a variety of counseling services to those who are seeking to improve the quality of their relationships. I love to work collaboratively with my clients to come up with the best approach to suit your individual goals and preferences.
Whether you are working to ease the symptoms of depression & anxiety, healing from grief & loss issues, resolving trauma, or seeking deeper relationships with yourself & others, I can help you move forward and feel better.
One of my specializations is helping people to stop anger from harming their relationships and careers. Since 1999, I've been facilitating anger management groups with children, couples and adults. I have developed a highly effective series entitled "Five Steps to Calming Your Anger: Tried and Tested Methods for Creating the Peaceful Life That You Want". This ongoing grouop is a powerful combination of support, effective cognitive behavioral techniques and a mindfulness based approach. For people who prefer the advantages of a completely personalized approach, I tailor this program to individual therapy.
I have more than 10 years treating anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship problems, grief and loss, and children's behavioral problems. My clinical career has also included work with a large number of children and families and has included many Gay, Lesbian, and Bi-sexual patients. Work in community mental health has taught me to work effectively with the vast array of presenting problems.
Over the past ten years, I have pursued advanced training in the following areas:
Anxiety Disorders
Mindfulness Psychotherapy approaches
Cognitive Behavioral Treatment
E.M.D.R.
Somatic Psychotherapy
Contemporary Psychoanalytic Approaches
Attachment Oriented Individual and Couple Therapy
